Privacy Policy
Clamor is operated by Movieclub LLC (“we,” “us”). Clamor provides live, premiere-night chat rooms for newly releasing TV episodes. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Questions? Email support@movieclub.io.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we create an account storing a unique account identifier (your Firebase user ID), the identifier Apple provides to us (your Apple “subject” ID), a display name, an emoji avatar, the account creation date, and your notification preferences. We do not receive or store your email address. Sign in with Apple may offer to share your name and a private-relay email; we use only the identifier Apple provides to sign you in.
- Content you create. Chat messages you send (the message text, plus the display name and emoji avatar shown alongside them), message reactions, an optional “watch minute,” and your RSVPs to rooms (which room and when).
- Moderation data. If you report a message, we store the report (the message and room involved, the reason you selected, its status, and that you submitted it). If you block another user, we store your blocklist (the accounts you have blocked). Reports and blocklists are not shown to other users.
- Usage and analytics. We use Firebase Analytics to record app events — opening a room, sending a message, toggling an RSVP, and deleting your account — along with the room involved. Firebase Analytics also automatically collects standard app and device information, such as an app-instance identifier, device model, operating-system version, and general usage data.
- Diagnostics. We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports, including stack traces and device/OS information, to diagnose and fix problems.
- Push notifications. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send premiere reminders and the weekly digest.
How we use your information
- Operate Clamor and show your content to other participants in the same room.
- Send notifications you have opted into (premiere reminders, weekly digest).
- Moderate rooms and keep them safe.
- Understand usage and diagnose crashes to improve the app.
How your information is shared
- Other users. Your display name, emoji avatar, messages, reactions, and “watch minute” are visible to others in the same room.
- Service providers. We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging) to operate the app, and Apple (Sign in with Apple and the Apple Push Notification service). These providers process data on our behalf.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users’ safety.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and content while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings). Deleting your account removes your profile, revokes your Sign in with Apple connection, and removes your push tokens and RSVPs. Your past chat messages are anonymized — your name and identity are detached — so existing room conversations remain readable to other participants. We may retain reports you have submitted, and other records needed for safety and moderation, after your account is deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can manage notification preferences and delete your account in Settings, and you can report or block other users from within a room. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; contact us at support@movieclub.io to make a request.
Children’s privacy
Clamor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
